Τα πρώτα χρόνια λειτουργίας του Μουσείου εισάγονταν συχνά έργα ξένης προέλευσης στη συλλογή του. - The objects in this display were given by the Dane J. Reetz and were the first collection donated to the Museum in 1918! In the early years of the Museum work of foreign origin were added to the collection.
Προφίλ 2 (ενήλικες γενικό κοινό) - Η προθήκη αυτή εμπεριέχει αντικείμενα της δωρεάς του Δανού J. Reedtz που είναι και η πρώτη δωρεά συλλογής στο Μουσείο το 1918. Το 1923 το Εθνικό Μουσείο Κοσμητικών Τεχνών έχει ως στόχο την ανάδειξη της πολιτισμικής συνέχειας του ελληνικού πολιτισμού, με τις πρώτες συλλογές του να έχουν ετερόκλητο υλικό. Ακολουθεί τα πρότυπα του Victoria & Albert Museum του Λονδίνου και του Musee de l'Homme στο Παρίσι. Κατά τα πρώτα χρόνια του Μουσείου εισάγονται στη συλλογή του έργα ξένης προέλευσης. - This display contains objects donated by the Dane J. Reetz, the first donation of a collection to the Museum in 1918. In 1923, the National Museum of Decorative Arts set out to promote the cultural continuity of Greek civilization, with its first collections of heteroclite material. It follows the model of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Musee de l’Homme in Paris. During the early years of the Museum works of foreign origin were introduced into its collection.
Προφίλ 2 (ενήλικες ειδικό κοινό) - Εδώ εκτίθενται χαρακτηριστικά αντικείμενα της δωρεάς του Δανού J. Reedtz, της πρώτης συλλογής που δωρίζεται στο Μουσείο Ελληνικών Χειροτεχνημάτων το 1918. Τα πρώτα χρόνια χαρακτηριστικό της συλλογής αποτελεί το ετερόκλητο υλικό της. Όταν το 1923 το Μουσείο μετονομάζεται σε ‘Εθνικό Μουσείο Κοσμητικών Τεχνών’, προσανατολίζεται προς την ανάδειξη της πολιτισμικής συνέχειας ως χαρακτηριστικό της νέας ελληνικής ταυτότητας ακολουθώντας ως πρότυπα το Victoria & Albert Museum του Λονδίνου, όσον αφορά στην ανάδειξη των διακοσμητικών τεχνών, και το Musee de l'Homme στο Παρίσι που ενδιαφέρεται για την ανθρωπολογική και εθνολογική διάσταση των εκθεμάτων του. Έργα ξένης προέλευσης συνεχίζουν να εισάγονται καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της πρώτης περιόδου λειτουργίας του Μουσείου. - Here are exhibited characteristic objects of the donation of the Danish J. Reedtz, the first collection donated to the Museum of Greek Handicrafts in 1918. In the early years the collection was characterized by its heterogeneous material. When in 1923 the Museum was renamed the 'National Museum of Decorative Arts', it was oriented towards the promotion of cultural continuity as a characteristic of the new Greek identity, following as models the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, as regards the promotion of decorative arts, and the Musee de l'Homme in Paris, which was interested in the anthropological and ethnological dimension of its exhibits. Works of foreign origin continue to be imported throughout the first period of the Museum's operation.
