Στην προθήκη παρουσιάζονται αντικείμενα, δωρεά της Χριστιανικής Αρχαιολογικής Εταιρείας προς το Εθνικό Μουσείο Κοσμητικών Τεχνών. Η Χριστιανική Αρχαιολογική Εταιρεία ιδρύεται το 1884 με σκοπό την ίδρυση Μουσείου Χριστιανικής Αρχαιολογίας και παραχωρεί μέρος της συλλογής της στο νεοσύστατο Μουσείο με σκοπό την ανάδειξη της συνέχειας της ελληνικής τέχνης ανά τους αιώνες. Τα εκθέματα της συλλογής παρουσιάζονται για πρώτη φορά και συνοδεύονται από σχετικό αρχειακό υλικό.
The showcase presents objects donated by the Christian Archaeological Society to the National Museum of Decorative Arts. The Christian Archaeological Society was founded in 1884 with the aim of establishing a Museum of Christian Archaeology and donated part of its collection to the newly established Museum in order to highlight the continuity of Greek art throughout the centuries. The exhibits of the collection are presented for the first time and are accompanied by relevant archival material.
