Ως προς την απεικόνιση βλέπουμε μια πολυπρόσωπη σύνθεση που ακολουθεί τα εικονογραφικά πρότυπα της ορθόδοξης παράδοσης ενώ συνδυάζονται δυτικότροπα στοιχεία σε μια προσπάθεια απόδοσης ρεαλισμού των μορφών και των λοιπών μοτίβων. Η μεταβυζαντινή εικονογραφία, ακολουθώντας τις επιταγές του 18ου αιώνα, επηρεάζεται από τη δυτική ευρωπαϊκή τέχνη. Βασικό εικονογραφικό θέμα είναι η ρίζα του Ιεσσαί.
