Yukos of the 20th century. On the eve of the wedding it was customary to display the bride's dowry. Among them, woven items, such as chamois or blankets, occupied a special place. With the instructions of the mother, the bride and the most skilful women, the 'building' of the yukos, i.e. the placing of the weavings one on top of the other with absolute order and precision, would begin. The base for "building" the yukos was usually a wooden chest while figure cushions were placed on top, above the weavings. The larger or taller the yukos, the more worthy or wealthy the bride was.
